The Wingman Extreme is a basic 2-axis joystick. It is in my opinion a very good design and quite responsive. It could be however, slightly more accurate as it feels quite dull around the centre.

The stick is very well designed and fits well into your hand. It has a trigger, a hat switch, a large missile button and two other small buttons. Most of the buttons are well placed but the smaller ones are hard to press and you loose them often in a combat or emergency situation. The joystick is very weighty in the hand, which is a good thing. It is also quite hard to push around but is not so hard that small kids cannot use it, but it can be quite hard for children to get their hands around the bulky design. The stick is predominately right handed and is almost impossible for left handed people to use. I think this is a major design fault and they should at least offer a left-handed version. The base of the stick is quite large but it is also quite heavy which means that the base always stays put when you move the stick around.

The stick is prone to being a bit inaccurate and dull around the centre position. The stick does not spring back to one main position and can be quite hard to calibrate effectively. This fault is really brought out in a flight simulating game when you cannot get the aircraft to fly in a straight line. This is usually remedied by setting the null zone around the centre to quite high but all simulators do not have this and could potentially cause a major problem.
